Burrata, Tomatoes and Basil

Written by: Shana Troy Montréal - November 19, 2018

If you’re anything like me, you love entertaining but don’t always have the time to prepare an elaborate dish. Today, I’m sharing one of my simplest go-to’s, that’s consistently a crowd pleaser. This recipe is vibrant, fresh and only requires three ingredients…because in our home, olive oil is not considered an ingredient, it’s a way of life.

Creamy and decadent, burrata cheese always feels like a treat. Paired with a fresh tomato and basil salad, loads of olive oil, some salt and pepper, and it just feels right.

This dish makes the perfect appetizer when you’re entertaining at home, or even to bring to a friends house…guaranteed you’ll always be invited back!!!

Ingredients:

-Burrata cheese

-Tomatoes

-Fresh basil

-Evoo (extra virgin olive oil)

-Salt + pepper

To make:

-Cube the tomatoes, and place them in a bowl

-Add chopped up basil, and many glugs of olive oil

-Place the burrata on a serving dish/ plate and pour the tomato salad all around the cheese.

-Add salt + pepper

*** P.S. If you’re taking this dish somewhere, prepare it in advance and bring it in 2 containers. Assemble upon arrival.

*** P.S. If you’re not entertaining, throw this treat together for yourself with fresh baguette, and you have a meal for one.

Bon appétit!
